Deze grote “wandelende tak” met flappen en stekeltjes wordt ook “Australische flappentak” of “Australische doorntak” genoemd. Vrouwtjes worden tot 15 en mannetjes tot 13 cm lang. Let vooral eens op het achterlijf. Bij “gevaar” rollen vrouwtjes dit op zodat vijanden denken dat ze met de giftige stekel van een schorpioen te maken hebben. | Heevis
